Virgo Full Moon April 2025
For this post, I'm borrowing insight from this quote by Danielle Orner which Lynda Hill posted on her site, because it is so apropos of this Full Moon energy: Life is a balance between what we can control and what we cannot. I am learning to live between effort and surrender.
I'm sharing Lynda's insight on the Sabian Symbols for the Moon and Sun as well.
Tonight's Full Moon takes place at 8:21pm EDT in the 24th degree of this Cardinal Air sign. The Sabian Symbol for this degree is A Third Wing on the Left Side of a Butterfly. While such a butterfly may be beautiful and intriguing, imbalance and distortion create difficulty.
Directly opposed to Luna's energy is Chiron exactly conjunct the Sun at 24°Aries. Chiron is known as the Wounded Healer.
From Lynda Hill's Wisdom of the Sabian Symbols, she reminds us that the symbol for 24°Aries is An Open Window and A Net Curtain Blowing Into the Shape of A Cornucopia.
Lynda relates to Chiron as the stories we tell ourselves, and that without the stories, our wounds can dissipate and dissolve from our consciousness. She asks the question, is it time to open those doors and windows and let a new sense of being sweep though our consciousness? I can only answer that for myself... yes!
Mars squaring both the Sun and the Moon brings a challenge to find the balance between ego and emotion within ourselves. Sometimes, that means being pushed into action by circumstance or situation, sometimes it stems from the need to assert ourselves even when afraid of others reactions. Mars is also squaring off with Chiron, so self-control and not letting a short fuse go off at the expense of healing are also facets of this Lunar energy.
With Mars at the fulcrum of this Libra Full Moon, interacting with the Sun, Moon and Chiron, we definitely need to know which way the scale is tipped and what we can do to restore balance and harmony. Understanding the quote above, we come to realize where we have the control and where we don't, no matter how unfair it may seem.
Then the only choice we have is to repeat the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference...
over and over and over, again and again.
