Fall Equinox

The last full day of summer is fading overnight as the Sun moves into the Cardinal Air sign Libra at 2:50 am EST, at the start of Fall. The emphasis is shifting from adaptability, organization and being discerning about what to keep or let go of, as the solar power leaves the Mutable Air sign Virgo. The thing to remember about Libra is that it is one of the 4 Cardinal signs on the world axis and is action-oriented, putting the focus on balance, harmony and beauty around us, especially in relationships.

Libra is ruled by Venus, the archetype of love and beauty, who uses her powers of attraction and persuasion to create a pleasant atmosphere. For the thirty days that the Sun travels through Libra, our efforts are best used to maintain or restore peacefulness in all our affairs, particularly in our significant personal relationships. Notice where the scales are tilted… are you doing most of the giving and receiving very little, or… is it the other way around?

This is also a great time to visit art galleries or museums and appreciate all the beauty all around you, perhaps bringing home a piece of new art for yourself. Maybe you’d like to create some art or music of your own to enhance your home or office, after all the weeding out you did in the last few weeks. Remember to keep things on an even keel and not go overboard with your decorating. After all, Venus also has rulership over your finances and this is a good time to keep the checkbook balanced.
