Solar Eclipse New Moon in Libra

The New Moon at 10° Libra 04' taking place October 2, 2024 at 2:49pm is also a Solar Eclipse. An eclipse occurs when the Moon sits astride one of it's own Nodes, either the South or the North Node. This time it's the South Node which symbolizes release and the past, which may be a bit confusing since New Moons are usually indicative of looking ahead and new beginnings.

My take on this is that because this Eclipse is in Libra, relationships, balance, fairness and equality are the focus, And because the South Node is activated, what is coming up for many people that needs to be acknowledged, is - who or what... is holding me back or preventing me from moving ahead and having the kind of harmonious relationship(s) I desire?

Once we recognize and accept whatever it is we need to release, then we can begin to enact the necessary steps toward achieving the balance we seek. A Libra Eclipse can bring up memories from the past that surface for healing, or bring people back into our current sphere of life that may hold the key to unlocking forgiveness which will allow us our autonomy and the ability to move ahead.

Mars (action and aggression) and Uranus (sudden upheavals) are both interacting strongly with the Sun, Moon and Mercury in the New Moon chart, bringing a sense of defensiveness or urgency to today's lunar landscape. I caution you not to overreact or push others' buttons, or vice-versa! Unless you're in an emergency situation that requires a quick reaction, adopt an attitude of inner readiness instead.

The key here is to forgive and forget whatever the past is bringing up to the best of your ability. There is a Grand Water Trine between Venus, Mars and Saturn helping us to use self-discipline while keeping our emotions in check and remembering that the first person we may need to forgive is ourself. For some, the imbalance between self and other may be so ingrained that professional help may be required.
