The final week of April

The final week of April brings interactive Mercury, in practical Taurus, into a very helpful relationship with expansive Jupiter in intuitive Pisces on Wednesday. This is wonderful energy for having conversations around useful projects that benefit all involved. Pleasant communication comes easily, flowing from the heart as the Moon, Venus and Neptune, also in Pisces, make connections all around. Compassion is easily felt and expressed through creative and imaginative fixes.

A harmonious aspect early on Thursday, between Mercury in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, lets these two Earth signs find industrious solutions that can be put to practical use. Put on your thinking caps and work together to accomplish something!

Mercury exits earthy Taurus for her own airy sign of Gemini on Friday evening, where she edges forward until May 10th, putting on the brakes at 4° 51’ Gemini, and turning retrograde until June 3rd. During this time, Mercury re-enters Taurus on May 22nd, not to turn about and move in direct motion until stopping at 26° Taurus on June 3rd, and finally re-entering Gemini on June 13th. This Mercury Retrograde period is good for redoing our budgets and more carefully assessing our resources, before its’ almost-4-week stint in Gemini when negotiations and agreements are being made. Check to see where you have 26° Taurus to 5° Gemini in your chart for the area of your life that will be affected by this phase.

We have the first of the Spring Eclipses on Saturday, April 30th. A Partial Solar Eclipse at 10° 28’ Taurus takes place at 4:28pm EDT. This eclipse energy serves to enhance our self-care and continued efforts to treat Mother Earth with the respect she deserves for all that she supplies us with. As you know, Taurus is the fixed Earth sign of the Zodiac and represents all the resources we have at our disposal, those that we earn and those that we take for granted and use every day. Eclipses show us what we need to focus on. How can you conserve energy and resources, material or otherwise? We are asked to take inventory of what we actually need and what we can do without or replace. How can we live more simply? What can we do to use naturally occurring sources of energy without pillaging the Earth?

The closest aspect in Saturday’s Eclipse chart is the conjunction of Uranus to the Sun and Moon. This electrifies things… brings flashes of insight, or surprises … upheavals and changes of plans… perhaps even disconnects with our technology and communication sources! What can you do about any of that? Not much, except wait for the discordant vibrations to cease, then review what has changed and determine what needs to be done to move forward. Go with the flow, accept change gracefully and work with your family, friends and neighbors to make a positive change in your community.

Pluto turns stationary retrograde at 28° 36’ Capricorn on the 29th and because it’s the most distant planet in our solar system, Pluto will have been at the same degree and minute for 11 days. Pluto will be Retrograde for 5 months, during which time we will be able to do deeper into what we need to shed, purge, or throw out, in order to transform into our new reality. Transformation is the ultimate reward of Pluto’s evolutionary journey.
